Welcome to my website.
Hello. I am Satyajit Mojumder. I have obtained my B. Sc. and M. Sc. in Mechanical Engineering degree from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET)), the most prestigious engineering institute at Bangladesh. Currently, I am pursuing my PhD in Theoretical and Applied Mechanics Program at Northwestern University, USA. I was a lecturer in the department of Mechanical Engineering, BUET from October 2015 to June 2018. Now, I hold a position of assistant professor in the same department and on leave for my higher study.
In my undergraduate, I have worked on computational heat transfer (CHT) under the supervision of Professor Sumon Saha. In my master's thesis, I have worked on the atomistic and finite element modeling of nanoindentation where I have developed an efficient computational technique to characterize mechanical properties of nanomaterials under the supervision of Professor Dibakar Datta and Professor Mohammad Abdul Motalab. In my PhD, I am working under the supervision of Professor Wing Kam Liu.
My research interest focuses on characterization of materials mechanical and thermal properties at the nanoscale. For this purpose, I am using both classical (molecular dynamics study) and quantum mechanics (first principles calculation) approach to study nanoscale materials behavior. I am also interested in developing efficient computational tools for materials modeling and simulation. Most of my works are published in reputed journals such as Journal of Applied Physics, Journal of Magnetism and Magnetic Materials, International Journal of Heat and Mass Transfer, Physica-B: Condensed Matter to name a few. In addition to that, I am a reviewer of 8 scientific international journals of reputed publishers. I like to read books, watch documentaries and search a few favorite journals in my pastime.
